Dear $KERMAN holders,

The past month has been less crazy than the previous month but positive overall! A few key updates from my own personal life:

  1. I’ve started working full-time at Zora — you may know them for their last RAC $TAPE drop. My main reason for joining Zora was the caliber of the team as the majority of them were early employees at Coinbase and have seen the company grow from < 50 people all the way up to thousands. Also they’re super fun human beings that make work enjoyable :) While Gods Unchained showed a glimpse of what blockchain + gaming could do, Zora is the next step into growing the crypto pie. Stay tuned for the stuff that I shill from them as we’ve got some really big drops coming up in the near future. Token holders seemed to be bullish about this move (50% increase in token price)

2. DeFi Weekly growth has been phenomenal (14% increase)! I’m unsure if this is a result of DeFi becoming much bigger, an increase in content (publishing at least 2 content pieces a week) or just random traffic flowing from somewhere else. I’m going to improve my ref tracking links so I can get to the bottom of this question. In addition, I’ve experimented with introducing the pay-wall at different points versus not having a pay-wall at all. The reason why I bring this up is because subscription revenue has also increased by 25% as well. Current MRR for subscriptions is $966 AUD.

3. Linking back to point #2, earlier last month I set out on the mission to close out sponsors for DeFi Weekly as I’ve been increasingly been approached by early stage teams and well established ones to be featured on DeFi Weekly due to the sophisticated audience present. With the help of token holders and hustle, I’m proud to announce that I closed 2 sponsors this month — MCDex and Aave! I won’t disclose figures for each sponsorship but the total per month (for the next 3 months) is $3,666 USD. The neat thing is that I’ve figured out how to integrate the ads in a great looking design so readers don’t feel like they’re being spammed by advertising. Here’s an example of the MCDex sponsorship message that I included at the bottom of this week’s edition.

4. Newsletter growth isn’t the only thing that’s gone up, the Youtube Channel I’ve started has also increased from 100 subscribers to over 371 subscribers with most videos exceeding 500 views, very high engagement and no more than 2 dislikes per video! There’s been a powerful fly-wheel between the newsletter and youtube channel causing growth to go hand-in-hand. I’ll continue to put out content on Youtube as it represents an asymmetric opportunity of time:upside (less than 30 minutes to produce, massive upside/leverage in exchange)

Token Burns

That being said, it’s time to tally up the totals and a breakdown of this month’s monthly token burns.

  1. $963.52 AUD from this month’s Stripe earnings = $666 USD

2. Sponsorships from this month have equated to $3,666 USD

3. The total amount of tokens to be burned this month = ($666 + $3666) * 0.05 = $216.6! This is a 10 fold increase from last month’s token burns ($22)!

I’ve purchased 4111 $KERMAN tokens from Uniswap over here: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x412f32a748ee266a63c16e5e29ea135b5d29fee62f4bb06ecbbec624fec8d2cc

and the tokens have been burned over here: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x0d067c4882cd93a47953fb5b7c1a8f19f6c3b19683384a3d481c33cb334e79c8

4.There were no redemptions for time this month so no tokens have been burned in addition to the above.
